Janet Farrar-Royce is to fiddlin' what whip cream is to a sundae. Janet's music covers all of the national standards with such detail it allows the time crunched public school teacher a chance to what they do best...teach.

I recently attended the workshop on Alternative Styles presented by Jan
Farrar-Royce at the National ASTA Convention in Reno, Nevada.  Jan is a
dynamo!  She knows her material, and her high energy really gets the
participants engaged and excited!  I would highly recommend  Jan as an
expert in her field and an outstanding clinician.

Sincerely,
Susan Day

Subject: Fiddling workshop

Dear Mr. Yorgey and the Valley Forge Middle School music staff,

Thank you so much for holding the special Fiddling workshops this past Monday. Emilyn thoroughly enjoyed both the director [Janet Farrar-Royce] and the workshop, and has been practicing all of the techniques the director taught with great enthusiasm. When Emilyn brought the sheet home last week detailing Monday and the workshops, I was thrilled to see that you were able to bring a program like this to the kids. After the snow this weekend and the late start on Monday, we were hoping that the workshops would not be cancelled. Emilyn could not stop talking about how wonderful the day was and everything new she had learned on our drive home from school Monday. Again, thank you so much for making this program possible, and for all of the wonderful work you do and support you give to the kids!

A few weeks after Jan first introduced the White Mountain Reel Companions to her students in the Cheshire Fiddle Club, the mother of an 8th grade boy from Bethlehem, CT, reported:

Nate can't stop playing the tunes along with the CD! His favorite is Nelly Bly. Now the whole family is excited to come to the barn dance next month!
